Pub n Prime has the best outdoor patio in the Northwoods called the Tiki Bar! You can see it as your round the corner on Hwy 70 driving through St. Germain. The drinks are great, the atmosphere is fun and the bar is huge with plenty of seating. Go inside to sit down and order a great steak dinner but be sure to order the onion rings! They are really thin and fantastic. Outside there is a limited but great food menu that goes along with the tiki bar theme.

The best prime rib I have ever had...nothing else compares. Service is always very good as well. If you go early, there is a discount as well.

Terrible service for a Sunday at noon, how hard is it to plan on a competent wait staff We were first there and had to throw money on the table and leave. How businesses like this stay open is beyond me

The food is fresh but I was really expecting something better. We've always driven past and it was always packed. The salad with coconut and shrimp lacking excitement. Chicken sandwich ok, burger was big but not seasoned. Prime rib sandwich was good but once again..Ok. the waiter was very inattentive and the tiki bar was not even at the height of the night. I would think twice about coming back to the tiki bar. Maybe try the prime n pub.

I am from Chicago and will put up Pub & Primes prime rib against any of Chicago steak house's prime rib.

I've been going here for years and the food remains to be a good value. Order the prime rib or the ribs. They added a nice outdoor area but inside atmosphere could be upgraded.

We ate indoors. Outdoor bar area very loud, and I have heard food outdoors is not as good as indoors. Really good prime rib and steak. Waitress was very busy and did not refill drinks, but great food and good value.

Wow Pub'n Prime is now one of my favorite all time restaurants in Wisconsin. As a matter of fact, I recommended Pub'n Prime to Ron Faiola for his upcoming second volume on Wisconsin Supper Clubs. Pub'n Prime does so many things right I don't even know where to start. The service was spotless, crushing the challenge of most of the guests leaving the Tiki Bar (yes, it's a prime rib and tiki bar kind of place) and moving into the main dining room at the same time. The servers use hand written checks, including all the abbreviations, and pick up hot food when their server number silently lights up on an elevator floor display kind of sign. I love old school systems like that! The menu is blissfully minimal: focused on one thing (prime rib) and doing it right. First we received fresh baked rolls and WIsconsin butter, as well as a nontraditional relish tray of black olives and crackers with a richly delicious cheesy spread. The prime rib arrived deliciously seasoned in its own jus and something strange happened to me, and I kind of blacked out. Next thing I know, EVERYTHING is gone, all the meat, even the fat I would usually trim off. It was outstanding. Gruff male hunters, at the table behind ours, were intoxicated by the $2 margarita Monday special and berated the owner, saying the price for prime rib was different on their website. The owner calmly replied, in a low frequency tone I could only just make out, that the out of date menu was from a third party website, as the restaurant does not even have one. I was concerned these butter and beef-fed Wisconsin jerks would snap her neck. I had nothing to worry about: she was a pro. Scientists may as well have discovered that the low frequency tone of her voice had the same effect on the lizard brains of these two hog-men as the umami-packed jus of the prime rib. The signature peak in the brain waves was identical. For her, these 300LB silverbacks was NBD. There would be more than enough prime rib to sate all comers. The top notch service and killer prime rib (in my blackout I didn't even take a photo!) won us over, and the silver fox owner won these old boys over too. Next time I'm in town, Pub'n Prime is where I'm eating!

Reliable and consistent most of the time. Prime and BBQ Ribs are always great. Polynesian shrimp used to be better, must have changed something ordered yesterday and were very bland. If I want good prime this is my go to, never disappointed with the prime rib. Best in Wisconsin. Con: food takes a long time to come out. Do not be in a hurry.

Absolutely 5 stars for the prime rib!! You can't get a better cut anywhere else, no matter how much you're paying. Ruth's Chris? Fleming's? Forget it... Aside from the meat, the other food is lackluster. Frozen rolls, bagged salad mix with globs of dressing, overdone baked potatoes... The restaurant venue is retro in a sort of run-down way, but the service is usually good. Overall, it gets a "meh" from me. But the family loves it and honestly, the prime rib will bring me back every time.

There's no doubt that the "Prime" of this restaurant is above average. However, the establishment itself from the interior to the outside "tiki bar" has very little to be enjoyed. The rundown interior, unkept bathroom, and uncleanliness all around made at the experience less than enjoyable. This place gets one star for a good service, one star for prime rib, and zero for the rest.

You'll feel like you've been transported to a 70's steakhouse/tikibar/northwoods establishment but you won't care because the prime rib is so, so good. Service was okay - it was quick but our server didn't seem to care much about adding to our experience. Salads they give you are fresh and tasty, as are the buns (I had to force myself to endure the stomach ache to try one). We were quite confused as to why they serve canned peaches with the garnishes but hey, why not right? Then you get the prime rib and you are in heaven. It's cooked absolutely perfectly and the flavor is awesome. There wasn't a lot of fat on mine but my boyfriend had quite a bit on his. I don't mind so much but he definitely does. Although my uncle still makes the best prime rib, this place comes in as a close second.

Best prime rib in the world. Great service but expect a wait like most good restaurants in the Northwoods. Kim is a fantastic server, she knows how to hustle and work for your pleasure. You must try the horseradish cheese at the bar and their onion rings as an appetizer.

THE place for prime rib! The rest of the menu is limited. If they are busy wait times can be long. I've ate here many times and the service can be iffy depending upon how busy they are. The best time to go is when the IMMEDIATE SEATING sign is lit over the walkway. The Tiki Bar is nice but I'm not much of a drinker.

Very good service and a classic Wisconsin dinner club atmosphere but lacking in food quality. The prime rib was good but the other food was lackluster. My wife ordered a chicken dish that looked like it came right out of steamer tray with no color or flavor. We won't be going back.

This is the type of restaurant that could benefit from Yelp having review categories, because I'd go: Food 4.5 Service 3 Atmosphere 2 This is THEE place for prime rib. The meat is excellent, tender, flavorful, and which your choice of three cuts or choose your own size, with most all of the fat trimmed off, you are getting a great roast at a great price, complete with sides. The salad is decent, though I loved the tomatoes, which are usually flavorless in similar restaurants. Baked potato was good, sour cream with chives a nice touch. Warm bread average. Mushrooms I couldn't tell if they were canned or not. The "relish tray" is nothing more than a crudite plate, and as it comes served at the same time as your salad and bread, really doesn't add to the meal. They should either upgrade the tray or get rid of it. They push their prawns, and while I'm not normally a prawn fan, these are good, though I would love for them to give an option on sauce/prep since the sweet pineapple sauce they use leaves a lot to be desired. Wine list could be expanded. The tiki bar looks adorable and has a great atmosphere. The dining area has zero atmosphere, and really could use some help, though if your beef is that good, who cares, right? Service also got off to a rough start on this night; acknowledge your customers standing at the door folks! Go for their prime rib. You won't be disappointed.

This was one of the worst dining experiences our family has ever had. Initially the meal started normally. Quickly that changed. I clearly ordered a white soda and was given a glass of wine. Then shortly after my father in law was asked to move down seats by the hostess they sat a table of 20 right behind him where he repeatedly was asked to move back and forth during his meal. We had to wait for our complete order to come because we ordered sour cream with our meal and that was not brought out with our entree. We asked for it; the waitress proceeded to get drinks for another table and serve butter and rolls for the table behind us before we got our sour cream. By the time it arrived our potatoes were cold and half our meal was already eaten. For the price of the prime rib the portions were meager at best. The cucumbers in the salad appeared to be very thin and were almost translucent. The green leaf salad with one cherry tomato cut in half did not foreshadow a good dining experience. After our meal was served we did not see or was asked about our meal at all. All wait staff was catering to the only large group in the restaurant. My husband had an empty beer for over 10 minutes when my father in law began to inform her of our disappointment she asked " well did you order another round?" He replied " how could we? You weren't here or checked on our table." he then asked for the check as we were not going to add anything else to our current order. We waited another 10 minutes and finally had enough. We asked for a member of management or ownership and were told that not one person was there. After we expressed our concern the only accommodation offered was a gift certificate. I do not want to return our meal should have been complimentary. The windows were dirty, a fly was flying around our table, and it had an odor. Needless to say our friends and family who come here will be told not to dine here as well. Lack of other options is probably the only reason they are in business.

It was ok, not as fancy of meals as I would think they would have. Staff was friendly. The interior was very nice, but the food fell short for our family. Not a great amount of menu choices for the kids. The initial relish tray was a bit strange for us. The rolls were the worst ones I have had in awhile. The meat was undercooked on my girls burgers, and prime rib sandwich. Overall, I would recommend other places in town.

Went back for the food on the porch this time. Seriously great burger. Good bluegill fry for the young ones and my wife had a solid salad with some giant grilled prawns. Again, love this place.

One of our favorite places in st Germain. Great outdoor tiki bar. One of a kind. Steak is consistent and excellent. Best place in st Germain!!! I would also give top marks to the staff. Service second to none.

We have loved the Pub and Prime for years, as they have continually served up some of the best prime rib anywhere for a very reasonable price. Now, they not only have great food, they have the best outdoor bar lounge north of Wausau! Great drinks, heaters for chilly nights, fun and friendly bartenders, and the food you know and love. Sit outside and have the prime rib sandwich with au jus and ask for a little horseradish sauce on the side. Pick a song on the jukebox and you'll want to stay all night.

Good food, good service, good atmosphere. Just go. And get the onion rings :-)
